As we all know, dog cancer is a terrifying disease that has claimed the lives of many dogs and their owners. Thankfully, there are a lot of incredibly bright and brilliant people working on ways to save dogs from cancer. But they can’t do it alone. They need help from us, too.
So when a video popped up on TikTok and Facebook claiming that a dog dewormer cured an American with terminal lung cancer, it piqued the interest of skeptics all over the world. The video shared a story of Joe Tippens, whose doctors told him that three months was all he had left to live. So he did what any desperate cancer patient would do: he combed the web for approaches outside of traditional medicine and started using a regimen that included fenbendazole, the spice curcumin, CBD oil, and mega doses of vitamin E.
The drug in question, fenbendazole, is a veterinary medication used to rid cats and dogs of intestinal parasites like hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, and tapeworms. It is available by prescription and sold under the brand name Panacur C. It is usually administered based on a pet’s weight and may come in liquid, powder, or paste form.
But what makes fenbendazole so exciting is that it also happens to be a drug with cancer-fighting properties. Preclinical studies have shown that the drug can reduce cancer cells and kill tumors in mice. And if it works in humans, it could be a revolutionary new approach to treating many types of cancer. dog dewormer cancer
